GRAPES: Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso

WINEMAKING: traditional red wine vinification, with eight days skin contact at a controlled temperature of about 25°C, fermentation in steel vats using selected yeasts, periodic daily pumping over the cap and delestage, racking in Slavonia oak cask, malolactic fermentation and maturation in wood until bottling.

WINE: vibrant purple red; briary fruit and raspberry aromatic; fruit-forward, nicely extracted palate with an attractive background note of ripe morello cherries. An important red wine with a great, warm and complex structure, but soft enough for an easy drinking.

VINEYARD: the vineyards are located in the plains of the municipality of Aquileia (Udine) in Friuli (Northern Italy), near the Adriatic Sea.

FOOD MATCHING: this wine goes well with red meats, game and seasoned cheeses. Serve at 16-18°C.
